A Mushroom House in Eight Minutes!
New Zealand sculptor Kim Beaton’s new video demonstrates making a home for “Faery Folk” and showing it off in your garden. Using Pal Tiya, the super-clay, of course.
Uploaded June 1, 2015
Kim says: Do the Faerie-Folk in your garden have nowhere to sleep? In 8 minutes Kim will show you step-by-step how to make a lovely dwelling for them in your garden that will last a lifetime, using Pal Tiya.
Recent Scientific research* has shown that many garden-dwelling Faerie-Folk now find it increasingly difficult to build the kinds of traditional shelter or dwelling that they are used to. It’s currently Winter time way over here in M̶i̶d̶d̶l̶e̶ ̶E̶a̶r̶t̶h New Zealand. Hollowed-out Pohutukawa-eggs, Binditwurdles, and discarded Kiwi-Burrows are hard to come by for them. So Kim decided to find a solution for these marginalized – yet delightfully cute – garden dwellers.

The Pal Tiya Velociraptor
Who wants to make a velociraptor? Steven Saunders, Lead Modelmaker on Thunderbirds are Go!, is doing it with the revolutionary outdoor modeling clay, Pal Tiya. Kim Beaton has just uploaded a video of the work-in-progress here:
Uploaded on May 28, 2015.
Kim says, “Did you know that Eighty trillion percent of the cost of all 1-off museum display props goes into molding and re-casting your original clay sculptures and models?
“Steven chose to try Pal Tiya because you essentially can just sculpt it, and walk away (keep it damp for a week of course). Plus it will LOVE being out in the weather just fine!
“…and no 33,000 volt electric-fences needed either!”

Now on TV: Continuous Tracking Shots
Disclaimer: Some of the clips below show PG-level violence.
In the cinemas, the use of continuous tracking shots are becoming more common, such as with Tintin:
And in The Avengers:
Now these shots are becoming the norm in TV action-adventure. This one from Daredevil Episode 2 caused quite a stir recently:
And Agents of SHIELD has gotten into the act:
And from SHIELD‘s final episode this season, one tracking shot after another:
And in The Flash, slo-mo is involved with the tracking:
Imagine how intense Peter’s duel in Prince Caspian could have been in one continuous take:
