Sir Richard Taylor of Weta Workshop, which is currently producing the two Hobbit films, was presented with the New Zealander of the Year Award on February 17, local NZ time. Details here.

The next day, as he returned to the studio, his employees gave him a rousing ovation.

On March 12, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival will be giving Richard the King Vidor Career Achievement Award, which honors excellence in filmmaking. Details here.
