In 1987, Studio Gainax released its first theatrical feature, Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise (王立宇宙軍 オネアミスの翼, Ōritsu Uchūgun – Oneamisu no Tsubasa), directed by Hiroyuki Yamaga.
